Very successful whist night which will be repeated soon
Grateful thanks to Shirley and Bryan for arranging and to Mansel Charles for being the MC.
On Sat 24th Sept we held a Big BBQ to celebrate all the work that has been completed at the Hall to date and to thank those who have supported, helped and contributed in many different ways. It was a huge success to which over 80 people came. The wonderful spread of food was supplied by the Committee and friends, this was very well received and plentiful. Councillor Cefin Campbell congratulated the Committee on their achievements saying what a great improvement had been made, and that although there was still work to be done, the Hall was now a very pleasant and usable venue. Jack Thomas the Guest of Honour was thanked for his very generous donation which significantly helped with the restoration. This donation was given in memory of late wife Phyllis and a plaque erected to recognition of this.
Dan from Llandeilo Town Band, provided live music which was most enjoyable. Everyone was appreciative of his entertainment throughout the event.
Poppy Potter gave a ‘Swing Dance’ demonstration, inviting members of the audience to participate. This was so enjoyable that Poppy was asked to put on classes at the Hall. Hopefully this may be another activity for people to join.To keep the children amused, Brigid painted faces – another great success – Games and sports were organised by Sharon, and Beryl; well done all – you kept the kids amused fo
r hours, until the rain came and splashing through the puddles chasing around the building and getting covered in mud took over.
Several other events have been arranged, more of this later.
We are hoping that the Keep Fit classes won’t be cancelled after all. If you would like to attend Keep Fit in September please watch for further details.
